RadPad, at the time was one of the first photo-based rental apps which was a huge differentiator compared to other primarily text-based marketplaces. I joined the team early as the first Front End Engineering hire. The team ultimately grew to over 44 people, and raised $14 million from investors. It was an industry-leading platform for renters and landlords to interact completely through their phones. Apple even invited the founders to their headquarters prior to the launch of Apple Pay to show them what they were up to and be a featured app supporting the new feature. Listing quality was high because we checked every single listing and had a minimum photo requirement, which was not typically done this way in the rental space at this time. You could find an apartment/house, apply with a RadPad-provided TransUnion credit report, sign your lease, and pay your rent all in the same place.
